"If people ask me for the ingredients of success, I say one is talent, two is stubbornness or determination, and third is sheer luck. You have to have two out of the three. Any two will probably do."
~Fred Saberhagen
Fancy yourself a lucky person? AWESOME. This means you can have either talent or determination, and you'll be golden! Luck tend to not be with you? ALL IS NOT LOST. All you have to do is develop your talents, and have buckets of determination. Then it doesn't matter whether or not you have luck, because you'll have the other two! And two is all it really takes... Fred Saberhagen said so. :)
Pretty awesome, right?
So lets clink our cookies together in a toast either to luck or to the absence of it. And what better way to toast luck than with sugar encrusted lucky clovers? Okay, well maybe SOMETHING else, but nothing I can think of because my brain can only think of the sugar encrusting at the moment. And, oh yeah! having talent, determination, and/or luck. And sugar encrusting...)

Happy weekend and St. Patrick's Day, everyone! May you not forget to wear green.
Since you're feeling extra lucky, go to Jessie Humphries blog! She's having a giveaway of Fandango bucks, just in time for the Hunger Games premier!

Now I am determined to start my day with something sugar encrusted. That would be so lucky! Guess I don't need talent today, what a relief. Fun Friday post!
I consider myself to be an incredibly lucky person. Maybe not at the time, but when I look back I can see how things could have all gone terribly wrong!
I've always thought getting published is a combination of talent, persistence, and luck. I still think you need all three, but in varying amounts. Even the most talented and persistent person needs a *little* bit of luck to be in the right place at the right time, no? You'd think talent would be the most important of the three, but once Snooki got a book deal that theory went right out the window...
I'm definitely stubborn. I'm sure talent or luck will kick in one of these days :-)
I read a study that said that people who consider themselves "lucky" are actually those who are the most determined and prepared....
Great quote! And...it's kind of true :) Yum, those cookies look good, but I'm most excited about CORNED BEEF this weekend! Yeah, seriously. I love it. :)
Well thanks. Now I'm craving shamrock sugar cookies. I'm about ready to jump in my car in my pjs and drive down to Smart Cookie. YUM.
Mmmm... cookies... Seriously. I drool every time I read your blog. And I don't think I'm lucky. I don't ever win anything. :P
Great quote! I could use a little luck. My talent is waning. : )
I like that quote!
good to know we only need 2 out of 3 to succeed...that's a relief!
Now, about those cookies...
Nice quote! And those cookies look so tasty.
Have a great weekend!
Mmmm...sugar encrusted. I'm not particularly lucky, so I'll be relying on determination and hoping for talent. And cookies.
I love the quote, and those cookies look so festive! :D
Great quote! I definitely need at least two of those options! ;) And yummy cookies--I'm drooling!
Thanks for this quote, Peggy :D I need to write it down and keep it close by to remember!
(and thanks for the cookie, you´re too sweet! :D)
Love the quote and the cookie!! :) Thanks Peggy! Happy St. Patrick's day!
Determination and stubbornness I have down. Talent, um, yeah some. Luck. Definitely but mostly bad. lol
Oooo, cookies for St. Patrick's Day, great idea ;)
I don't consider myself very lucky, but I do know how to persevere!
I love that quote! And those cookies look yummy!
I confess. I clicked on the link for this post purely because I was REALLY hoping that, by doing so, those cookies would jump out of the screen and land in front of me on my desk. This did not happen.
On the plus side, we have birthday cake. All is not lost. ;)
Cookies and luck. What a great combination :-)
I'm banking on sheer determination these days :) Those cookies look absolutely delicious!
I've always believed that with a lot of hard work you get lucky...
Great combination of cookies...and so yum! And luck!
We were green to our eyebrows, metaphorically. I fixed up some t-shirts for my granddaughters, cooked up shepherd's pie and bread pudding. AND we have been having tons of rain.
Hope your day was wonderful!
Love the ingredients for success... so true. I need some four-leaf clovers... The cookies look so yum
