Quotes and Cookies: Scary

"If your dreams don't scare you, they aren't big enough."

~ Lowell Lundstrum

Scary thought, isn't it? Dreaming big enough that the dream scares you. It takes a lot of guts to dream big! But the big dreams--- those are the really awesome ones.

So... What about you? Are you scared? If you are, have a cookie. It helps. ;)

I don't think it's the dream so much that scares me as it is the concept of failing to achieve it. I'm not going to let that stop me from trying, though.

I agree with Jeff and those cookies look awesome.

JeffO took the words right out of my mouth...er, fingers. I'm not afraid of my dream - I'm afraid of the possibility of failure that comes along with that dream. Also, I ate a really delicious Russian cookie here today that I'd share if it wasn't already in my stomach. Imagine a round butter cookie, topped with a giant blob of caramel, all dipped in white chocolate, topped with a walnut. Definitely kept the fear at bay (for a good 30 seconds, at least). :)

Well, my dreams scare me an I'm not just talking about the ones when I'm asleep, though those can be pretty scary. It's just I'm more terrified that they won't come true than that they will.

I think some of that fear comes from being insecure. We hear of other people doing great things that we may aspire to, but we want to attribute supernatural and unattainable abilities to those we look up to and so when we dream of doing those amazing things, it means that we must somehow gain those awesome powers ourselves.
Any way, Once we realize that people are just people and that there is no hidden magic or super powers, then the fear lessens and we get that much closer to attaining what we dream.

I like to dream big. What's the saying? Reach for the stars and you never come up with a handful of mud.

I bake those cookies every Christmas. They look like they've been snowed on. Yum.

Wonderful quote. I need to do a better job of visualizing my dreams. Sometimes they're so scary big, I don't. But I should.

Thanks, Peggy!

I love this. I used to get scared of my dreams and then hurry and abandon them. I realize I need to embrace them, even if they do make me nervous. Dreaming big is so important!

Thanks for sharing.
