DIVERGENT Giveaway!

I interrupt the regularly scheduled post to bring you A GIVEAWAY!

Holy cow. I just finished reading Divergent last night. It's the first book I've read in a while that sucked me in so fully that for the last 150 pages or so, I was incapable of getting anything else done. (Seriously. I was sitting at the kitchen table, dying of thirst, and couldn't seem to tear my eyes off the page long enough to walk to the sink.) It was intense. Like HUNGER GAMES intense.

And by a happy twist of fate, I happen to have two copies of the book! One I've read and loved. One I want to give away. You know how, when you open a hardback book for the very first time, it makes that sound? You know the one-- it's a crack! like the sound of words escaping. The book I'm giving away STILL HAS THAT SOUND INTACT. See how selfless I am? It's sitting right here next to me, calling me to open it so I can hear that sound, but I'M NOT. The sound is part of my gift to you if you win.

So, what do you have to do to win? Just leave me a comment saying you want it. That's it! No other steps needed. (Although someday, I'm going to design a giveaway with 50 steps. It'll be epic.) You can spread the word through the usual channels if you feel compelled to do so, but it's definitely not necessary. I just want this baby to go to a nice, loving home.

Ooo! But you get extra credit if you use the words holy frijole!, blue 42, snowplow, kablam, and/or meerkat in your comment. And no, the extra credit doesn't actually earn you anything.

I'll let a random number generator pick the winner at 10:00 pm MST on next Wednesday, November 16th. May luck smile down on you. :)

I have had this book on my wish list forever! I so need the book... and holy frijole (extra credit ;-)) I won't send any more of "those" pictures if I win... although, if I lose... kablam!!!

I want a book that sucks me in! I want my mind to go "kablam!" And I definitely would drive a snowplow to your house to get it if I had to. :)

Well, I've never even heard of this book, but holy frijole! Now I really want to read it! (Did you like the usage there?) Especially since your description reminds me of when I'm sucked into a book. One time I lost 5 pounds reading a book series because I was so consumed in reading for days that I COULD NOT EAT. Hahah. Oh, books<3

Four. Kablam. Boom. Done.

Divergent was incredible! I am the world's slowest reader, but I devoured this in a day and half. It was SO good. I a** over tea kettle for Four, but that's another story :)

I would love to win this, since I read it from the library and it's right on the top of my reread list!

Awesome giveaway. Love the blog!

Holy frijole! I want it. ;)

My sister (she's 16) and I have been wanting to get it and read it, so I'd love to be entered for a chance to win.

Sounds like a great one! I would love to read it! ;D

YES! I've read the author's blog and the free preview of the first few chapters, and I absolutely loved both. Unfortunately, I'm not letting myself buy new books until Christmas and I'm #31 or something on the library wait list. This giveaway is exactly what my impatient, greedy-for-my-own-copy-to-keep-forever self needs!

I read it, and don't need to win it. Just wanted to say, I LOVED this book. Four is so swoon worthy, and I love his backstory.

I just heard about this book and I'd love to read it! Also, my sister is going to Uganda in a month to film mongooses. Meerkats belong to the mongoose family. :)

Holy frijole! I'm in! I've been wanted to read this book for a while now. :)

The snowplow, the one with the blue42 on its side, swept away my mailbox last week in the storm, so the mailman left my copy of Divergent on the doorstep. That dang meerkat from across the street ran off with it. I saw him sitting at the edge of his little meerkat burrow, reading MY book. So I threw open the window and took a potshot at him with my trusty 12-gauge - kablam! Holy frijole, I missed the meerkat but hit the book! So, I definitely need a copy.

NaNoReviMo has gone to my head, help.

This book is quickly rising to the top of my to-read list and I WANT it like the girl at the Chocolate Factory who wants the gum (can't think of her name right now). But not if it is going to make me blow up and turn blue. I'm saving that for the holidays.

in the words of all my children 'gimme gimme gimme!' I've been wanting to read this for a while.

Holy frijole batman, this book is so awesome, I want it more than a snowplow! And that's totally sayin' something since I live in the blizzard capitol of *ahem* Utah. Every time it snows, it's like KABLAM! And all the meerkats go scurrying into their holes.

Um, so can I have it? :)

Kelley Lynn said...

Personally, I think this book is way better than the Hunger Games. *Cowers behind something so she doesn't get hit*

But seriously I think so :)

I'd love to own me a copy since I borrowed it from someone!!! :)

That's a great idea of what to do with extra books. Somehow I own three copies of Huckleberry Finn - maybe four. And totally not in shape to give away. How did that happen?

Holy blue meerkats underneath a snowplow! I want that book!

Great giveaway! "Blue 42. Blue 42. There's a giveaway at Peggy's Blog. Get over here, Blue 42!"
Hahaha, that's all I got.

Jessie Humphries said...

I'll Blue 42 your...what were we talking about? I totally agree about the vortex sucking in-ness of this book. I own it too, so no need to enter me in the contest. But can I be in the contest for winning some cookies? That should be your next contest.

Angela Brown said...

Kablam! I just shot an imaginary giant snowball soaked in blue 42. I rolled it up using my faux snowplow and threw it at your worst enemy: Doubts R Us. Now those meanies are scurrying like a wild group of meerkats screaming, "Holy frijoles"."

Why would I do all that? Because you're cool people...and I do want Divergent :-)

Laura Pauling said...

I already have read and have a copy of this book but I did read through it quickly and loved it!

Faith E. Hough said...

I loved this--but my copy was from the library and the sound was already used up. :)
I'd love to win a copy!

Shell Flower said...

I am ready a library copy right now. I should finish this weekend. Totally loving it as well. I'd love to own a copy so my son can read it.

Susanna Leonard Hill said...

Holy frijole! That snowplow just went kablam into that meerkat. Did you see that?

But aw shucks! I already own it - awesome book! My only problem? I read it way too soon! The sequel won't be out for ages! Wahhh!

I was going to cook a holy frijole tonight in the oven, but read the ingredients and was snowplow'd by the blue 42 and meerkat. Seriously, what happened to chicken and red dye? I could totally use a copy of Divergent to read while I stand at the oven, and hope the food doesn't kablam over the sides.

Jill Campbell said...

Holy frijole I want that book because I haven't read a good one in a while and I might be snowed in and I don't have a snowplow. So kablam, spam, Snickers, shabam, sign me up to win, wham! Meerkat.

Carterista said...

Last winter I was watching an enthralling episode of Meerkat Manor when KA-BLAM! Out of the blue, 42 degrees dropped to 31. I ran to the window and Holy Frijole! There was so much snow only a snowplow could dig me out. I really could have used a great book to read.
(If this post wins, I hereby bequeath the book, which I have read and LOVED, to JEFFO, because his post made me laugh!)

Carterista said...

This coming winter I'll be watching an enthralling episode of Snowplows Gone Wild when KA-BLAM! Out of the blue, 42 meerkats will waltz in looking all holy. Frijoles will be served with rice and the show will be enjoyed by all.
(If this post wins, I hereby bequeath the book, which I have read and LOVED, to JoAnn Hazelbaker.)

Carterista said...

Next winter I'll be reading a version of the story of the girl who's skin is as white as snow, plowing though as I often do when a book is less than enthralling. Suddenly, KA-BLAM! Out of the blue, 42 meerkats will waltz into the story acting all holy. Frijoles with a side of rice will somehow be worked into the final chapter and I'll wonder divergent viewpoints will be written about the book.

Carterista said...

(Oh, if that one wins, I hereby bequeath it to Kristine Davis)
