Quotes and Cookies: Bathing.

Remember that blog slump I was talking about? Um, yeah. It doesn't seem to be going anywhere. But this time, it's not because I'm slumped so much! It's that I got second round edits. Every bit as difficult; 1/4 the time to do it in. Which really means two things: 1- I'm living in a cave and 2- I miss y'all something awful. It has been SO HARD to stay focused when I'm tempted to just hop around to a few blogs! First thing I do when I climb out of this cave is gorge myself on reading blogs.

So I figured that to keep on track, I better write a post about... Wait, no-- This is about MOTIVATION, not bathing! Although, both-- extremely important when in a slump. For more reasons than the fact that the best ideas come in the shower.

"People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing -- that's why we recommend it daily."

~ Zig Ziglar

Yep. What he said. I'll take that motivation in mass quantities, please! And I don't know about you, but I'm totally in need of comfort food, so I'm going for the classic chocolate chip cookie to pair with that motivation. Plus, this picture makes my eyes happy.

Have a motivating, slump-free weekend, everyone!

Oh! And happy June, too! (Seriously? When did that happen?)

Sending motivation your way in the form of "I want to read that book!" Enjoy your cookies, the blogs will be waiting. :)

Douglas Adams was famous for taking long baths when he got writers block.
He was the cleanest man I ever met. lol

That is such a great quote!! I made big M&M cookies to sell at the Relay for Life tomorrow, and it is SO HARD not to eat any. But I won't! I'll have to wait until tomorrow and buy one for myself, LoL!

Glad I'm not the only one pushing through a blog slump! I don't have the excuse of major editing...but that's okay! Good luck with your edits, take a little time to bake cookies with your kids :) And then eat them while in the yard and sipping on yummy milk while watching your kids be silly--that's motivational!

LOL!! Uh, Peggy, June happened while you were in the deep, dark depths of your cave. But I think it should still be June when you come back out.

That picture made my stomach happy. My fingers just added choco chip cookies to my grocery list. Yummy.

Stay motivated. I know you'll do your best on the edits!!!

I like that. I've heard an analogy similar about how you can't just brush your teeth once a week with a lot of toothpaste and it last for the rest of the week.

Must make cookies...

I'm with you on when June happened. I couldn't believe it already arrived...and it's cold in Chi-Town. BRR!

Have a great weekend.

Lol, love that quote! I'm better at sticking to daily showering than writing. But I've been sticking to my goal to write something every single day even if it's only a few sentences. Does that mean one day I won't stink as a writer? (lame pun intended)

I probably need a little more time writing than I have been doing and less time blogging. Still juggling everything poorly I guess :)

it's tough writing every day, but worth it when you get closer to your goals.

Some of my best ideas come to me when I'm in the shower, and I definitely do that every day.

Now to figure out how to waterproof my laptop...

Happy writing. I know I'm going to have to make daily writing a priority.

Those are some good looking chocolate chip cookies. Not as good as the ones I make, but good nonetheless. Happy writing!! Break a pencil!

What a great quote! And those cookies LITERALLY made my mouth water. I really mean that ... not in the way that everyone uses "literally" these days when it did not "literally" happen!! :)

I'll take some motivation and cookie for the road. :) I just hopped over here from Falling for Fiction. Great interview!

Bahaha! I totally use Zig Ziglar in my latest book. Also, I am very hopeful that my editing will not be nuts because:
1. I was just assigned jury duty.
2. I am doing "pre" first pass edits with my editor.
3. My book isn't THAT long.
4. How hard can it be to take out all the eff words?

:)
