Quotes and Cookies: Write Through It.

"Write through it."

~Elana Johnson

I'd try to write something profound, but I'm going to just let Elana continue. "I find it works for everything. Feeling depressed? Write through it. Jealous? Write through it. In a slump? Write through it! Hit a wall? Write through it!"

Fabulous advice, no?

Oh, and speaking of Elana (yes, I used an Elana quote specifically for its brilliant segue ;), she will be HERE on Monday! There are three things I have to say about that:

1. Not only will she be here as part of her SURRENDER blog tour, but she agreed to a crazy fun photo shoot as well. :o)
2. It was epic.
3. It's the most fun I've had with a blog post in a very long time.

So come hang out with us on Monday! It'll be a blast. And in anticipation of Elana's visit, I have for you BACON CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES. Seriously. What do you think? Just how cookies should be, or two things that should never mix? I have to say that even though it's candied bacon, my brain’s a little weirded out that there is MEAT in my COOKIE. But my taste buds keep saying, “Who cares! It’s a cookie!” And then my brain rolls its eyes and says, “Whatev."

Write through it! And have a great weekend!

Great advice. It works pretty well for me.

And bacon makes EVERYTHING better.

No bacon for me. I agree about writing through it.

Writing through it is the only way to write. There will always be an excuse not to write.

I'm a little weirded out by bacon in cookies too. Love bacon, love cookies, not sure the two should mix.

I just can't get on board with the bacon in desserts. Granted, I haven't tried it, but it just...I don't know.

Love Elana.

That is perfect advice for me right now because I'm in a bit of a writing slump trying to fix lame things I threw into my WIP. Anyway, I'm contemplating hunting down cookies like that. Bacon and chocolate sound divine right now!

No bacon for me since I'm veggie (although I always say that bacon is the gateway meat...it just smells so darn good!) but I'm looking forward to Monday's post! Have a great weekend :)

Look forward to the Elana fun on Monday. Woot!

And seriously, there's bacon in those chocolate chip cookies? I don't know if I should dance for joy or shake my head that two things I enjoy were combined into divine yumminess.

Great advice! :) Bacon cookies? Oddly enough, I'm intrigued...

Have a great weekend!
...And a great next week, since I won't be here!

Write through throwing up bacon flavored chocolate? Okay.

"Write through it." I really wish I could.

I also wish I didn't see those cookies because I'm really hungry now.

I could go for a dozen of those cookies after the week I had. Monday-got fired, without ever getting a warning. Tuesday-re-hired, at the same place for half the pay. No wonder I never got written up, it was all about the money. Wednesday-stayed home one day before heading back to work. Ya gotta have health insurance after all. Thursday, Friday-Back to work but did no work.

I will say though that I did write even though I wasn't feelin' it. Please pass the cookies...

I enjoy a little seasalt on top of a chocolate chip cookie. Sometimes I sprinkle it on before I put them in the oven. I'm on the fence about bacon.

I LOVE ELANA JOHNSON!!!

I mean, I don't *know* her, but everything she says about writing is wonderful and inspirational and oh so true. I just want to squeeze her real bad.

That's all.

Can't wait for Monday :D

Awesome quote. I just read through a guest post from Elana on Writer's Ally with S. A Larsen. Looking forward to Monday.
Bacon in a cookie? Not sure, but there is something to be said for sweet and salty together, although I'm not sure how sweet or salty candied bacon is- never tried it. I think I need to have breakfast. :)

Ahhhhhhh two of my favorite authors on one blog! It's going to be EPIC!

"Write through it" is exactly what I needed to do the past few weeks. I did, and it helped, and I have a new baby draft to show for it. In a new genre, even! Wheee!

My Jewish soul wept at those cookies, but my waistline will certainly be the better for me not being able to eat them. :) Silver linings, I suppose.

I would try those cookies, even if they sound totally weird and, yeah, I don't tend to mix sweet & savoury in one go. I'd still try these! They do look amaaaaaaaazing.

I'm a big believer in writing through it. And now I'm wondering what bacon chocolate chip cookies would actually taste like. ;)
