NYC, here I come!

Ohmygosh, you guys. In just a few days time, I'm going to be here:

My hubby and I decided that for our anniversary, we're going to go to New York. Times Square, specifically. It's been forever since we've gone on a vacation sans kids! They are old enough that they are easy to take, and I hate going places and just wishing they were there to see everything too, you know? Plus, they're awesome, and I'd miss them. BUT, I am very excited to go on this trip just with my husband! I'm excited for him to meet my agent, and I'm excited for us to both meet my editor and her assistant, my publicist (holy frijoles! by this time next week, I'll have a publicist!), my marketing team, the art director, and possibly even the publisher. Plus, I'll get to tour the Random House building. And we're going to see as many of the sites as two people can possibly see in 5 days' time. I'm so happy/anxious/thrilled/nervous/ecstatic I can't stand it!

Have you ever been to NYC? Are you dying to go there as much as I am? If you've been before, what should I make sure that I don't miss?

I'm a New Yorker. Great place to visit, but I don't think I'll ever move back because it's just too expensive.

Definitely take a ride on the Staten Island Ferry and have your camera ready for nice pics.

Visit the MoMA. Price of admission to the museum is "suggested". Any donation will get you access, so pay what you can afford.

Do the High Line for something a little different http://www.thehighline.org/.

If you love sweets, going to Serendipity3 is a must! http://www.serendipity3.com/

Have fun!

Wow, you're living the dream. Good for you.

The Empire State Building, definitely. But, I'm sure that's on your list. I think I'd find Central Park interesting.

I've always wanted to go to New York, and I've always wanted to live there, too. I've heard it's very different from Chicago, even though I love Chicago. But I'd love to go to the place where so many novels and plays as well as movies are set.

How exciting. I've been there before but mostly we just celebrated thanksgiving with family. I'm sure meeting all your writing team and touring the building will be the most exciting part of the trip. Well, other than being there with hubby. That would be nice.

How exciting. Of all the cities I've been to, I've never been to NYC, not even to change through the airport!

I hope you have a blast with your husband.

Woo-hoooooo! That sounds like an awesome/amazing/fantastic/crazy great trip! I'm excited for you. :)

I'd love to take a trip to NYC. I did see the skyline of it when I flew in to Buffalo for a writing conference at Chautauqua, but, sadly, that's as close as I got.

Someday. :)

My goodness, I must have missed the cover art announcement for Sky Jumpers. It looks amazing!
As for NYC, I've never had the pleasure of going, even though I have a number of friends who live there and who are constantly trying to get me to visit.

I hope you have a fantastic time. Rick and I went to Newport last year for our anniversary and spent most of the time saying, "Wow! The kids would love this."

Congratulations Peggy - it must be so exciting to meet everyone now involved in your book.
I live in NYC - a great place but challenging at times. The High Line is an unusual place worth a visit, so is the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Central Park. My favorite thing to do is just walk the different neighborhoods and take in how each really is a different city in itself. Walking through Soho and stopping for a cup of coffee and strolling through the West Village and stopping at the Magnolia Bakery... Have fun and let me know if you need any tips for lunch /dinner.

Central Park for sure (I'm biased; I worked there for eight years). Go to the Conservatory Garden at 104th and 5th Avenue, it's beautiful. The Museum of Natural History, of course. Hmm. Lots of other places. Ride the subways. You'll probably get a LOT of ideas for stories there.

Enjoy your trip!

I'm so jealous, wish I was in your place. But absolutely happy for you. Many unforgettable places in NYC but for me, Central Park is every writer's hideaway. Have fun!

NYC so cool! Have lots of fun! I've only been there at the airport, long ago when my mother worked for Delta. We flew tons.

Again, have fun!
