Well, maybe not everything...
Because, you know--- sometimes BICHOKing becomes an extreme sport. Especially when you've got an overly demanding muse or an impossible deadline. (I just may have possibly been BICHOKing to the extreme over the past six weeks.)
Okay, maybe not this kind of extreme...
... but extreme in the sense that my butt has been in that chair for a VERY LONG TIME. And unlike other kinds of sports, practicing this one gets you in the very opposite of good shape. (Which brings all new meaning to the phrase "These revisions are killing me!")
Once I decided that I was NOT going to let these revisions kill me, I chatted with a bunch of the Lucky 13s about this. For the 75% of us who hadn't (as one Lucky put it) "spent the last year working my butt ON," they gave suggestions on what worked for them. Want to hear the most popular answer? Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred videos. So in my effort not to experience Death By Sitting, I haven't missed a day of doing them since, even when I wanted to cry every time I walked up stairs. (Every tried them? Look it up on YouTube-- you can start today! Gosh-- I should go into the business of infomercials.)
How about you? Do you BICHOK responsibly and take your exercising as seriously as you take your writing? Or do you BICHOK to the extreme?

As a working author, BICHOKing is something altogether different. It's BICHOKing in stolen moments between work, being mommy and hoping to grab at least 4, maybe 5 hours of sleep. This thing you refer to as "the exercise" is a known object of both irritation and need. Irritation because I REALLY need to do it but have not gotten certain other things balanced enough to do it. A need because I think my butt is forming a new companion where my stomach used to be lol!!
Working my butt on...haha. Unfortunately, my computer desk is evidence of my BICHOKing to the extreme. Diet Coke bottles, dark chocolate square wrappers, fast food trash. Oy.
Are these revisions from your editor? I'm waiting on mine and dying. My other project is with CPs and betas right now so I'm going to be very busy.
I do work on something everyday though it's often my blog vs. writing. I need to get a better balance.
I do try to exercise 5 days a week at least by walking because all the sitting for work, writing, and reading blogs is adding up in unwanted pounds. And I've started standing part of the time I'm working on the computer for this reason.

I work on something everyday, but I also try to exercise everyday, and the family, you know, they demand their own time. So, no, I'm not an extreme BICHOK. Which is probably why I write so slllooooowwwww.
I never heard of BICHOKing. I do a lot of BICHOKing which has padded my booty, so I best check the video out!
Oh yeah, I do not miss my workouts because I would die from sitting still for so long (that and my fingers start to get sore after twelve hours).

I have the blessing and the curse of a fast metabolism. As such, sitting and writing for long periods of time just makes me fidgety. I have to get up and do SOMETHING about every 15-20 minutes. Sometimes I exercise, sometimes I just go for a quick walk. Usually I play with my son and that does the trick. Then I'm back to the chair and keyboard, typing away.
Extreme BICHOK for me... between study and writing, I spend my whole day in a chair. But my lovely family drags me out of bed to go running with them 3-4 days a week, so the pounds aren,t going on just yet.
Love the acronym! :) Not too extreme BICHOKing here yet. Maybe when edits on my next book come. But I'm getting back into exercise, so helpfully I can do both!
Those are my favorite workout videos of all time! But I'm ashamed to say I've never make it a full uninterrupted month. The jumping jacks KILL me. Seriously! I think I might die. In my head I think, "This exercise is not for busty women!"
I spend A LOT of time every day either with my butt in chair or driving - not good! But I have dogs. So at the very least I am sure to take them for a good outing every single day. So there's that... but I'm thinking I ought to check out Jillian Michaels... although THAT might kill me :)
When I write at home, I prop my laptop on a shelf and use it like a standing desk in an attempt to avoid the dreaded "writer's butt." It's also nice because I like to pace when I'm mulling over a plot question or bit of dialogue. I can just walk around the room returning to my computer with a decision.
I wear a pedometer and make myself get a certain amount of steps everyday. I try to break it up so I'm not marching around the house late at night! :)
